As you play through a vault you will notice that sometime you will see special versions of Tanks, Assassins and Dweller with a image above their head.
These mobs are know as champions. These are harder to kill than the standard mob which is impacted by Vault Difficulties
When playing on normal and harder difficulties the champions will either debuff you or buff mobs within its radios.
Special loot ranging from bronze to unidentified keys can drop when killing a champion.
