Vault difficulty determines how tough the mobs are inside a Vault by adjusting their health and damage. It does not affect loot; loot is controlled by a separate game rule (see Vault Loot for details).

There are two types of Vault difficulty:

  • Global difficulty: Applies to all players unless overridden.
  • Local difficulty: Set per player and overrides the global setting for them.

How to set Vault difficulty

You can set Vault difficulty in different ways depending on whether you're playing in singleplayer or multiplayer.

Commands

/the_vault difficulty <difficulty> Sets the global Vault difficulty for all players.
/the_vault local_difficulty <playerIGN> <difficulty> Sets a specific player's personal Vault difficulty.
