Welcome to Vault Hunters!

This is a guide to the basics of this modpack to get you started and experience it to its fullest potential!


Quest Book

Once you spawn, you will receive a Quest Book that guides you step by step through what you can do and achieve. It is very important to read it to guide yourself even further!

If you lost the book, do not worry. There is a keybind to open it: Go to Options → Controls → Keybinds → Search for "Quest Screen" → Default keybind is ].


Chromatic Iron Ore

Chromatic Iron is a fundamental ore needed in almost every recipe. It is the key to accessing the Vault Dimension. It is found below Y-30, mineable with an iron pickaxe or better. Fortune enchantments will increase your ore yield!


Vault Stone

Vault Stone is the base for starting in Vault Hunters. Found below Y-5, mining it has a chance to give you a Vault Rock.

Using Vault Stone and its variants, you can make the Vault Portal to start your journey!


Vault Altar

The Vault Altar is used by interacting with a Vault Rock. It will show you the materials required to create a Vault Crystal. Drop the required materials onto the altar, then add a redstone signal (e.g., a button or lever) to activate it. The altar will produce a Vault Crystal.


Vault Dimension

Accessing the Vault Dimension requires a Vault Portal made of Vault Stone (or its variant) and a completed Vault Crystal. Right-click the crystal on the portal to light it up and enter!

Inside, you’ll find Vault Loot that helps you progress, level up, gear up, and more!

Note: You cannot heal inside the vault. Use the Heal Ability or Vault Potion.


Vault Objectives

Upon entering the Vault Dimension, a GUI will appear at the top of your screen showing a Vault Objective. Completing this will grant you additional Vault XP and a Crate with rewards, which can be opened in the overworld.


Vault Stat Screen

The Vault Stat Screen can be opened via a keybind: Go to Options → Controls → Keybinds → Search for "Skill Tree" → Default keybind is H.

Mods are locked behind a system called Knowledge Stars. Once you craft and consume one, head to the Mods Tab in the Vault Stat Screen. Click on Mods Tab to see available mods you can unlock!
