Vault Mobs

Are hostile entities that spawn exclusively within Vaults. They are a core component of the Vault Hunters modpack, designed to challenge players through increasingly dangerous encounters that scale with their progression.

Unlike standard Minecraft mobs, Vault Mobs have:

  • Unique statistics and resistances
  • Specialized behaviors
  • Increased threat levels based on vault difficulty

Defeating Vault Mobs grants players Soul Shards, a rare currency used to purchase exclusive items from the Black Market Table.

Mob Categories

Vault Mobs are divided into several distinct categories, each with its own characteristics and combat style:

Hordes
Appear in large groups with low health and damage. Meant to overwhelm rather than outlast.
Dwellers
Spawn in smaller numbers but deal high damage. They often emerge from trapped chests.
Assassins
Balanced health with very high melee damage. Designed to quickly eliminate players caught off guard.
Tanks
Feature high health pools and often have special mechanics such as self-healing, area effects, or retaliatory abilities.
Champions
Deal significant damage and are capable of applying buffs to nearby mobs or debuffs to players, making encounters more dangerous and in addition on Hard Vault Difficulty+ Champions can teleport to you once they are unable to reach you.
Guardians
Elite protectors found within Challenge Rooms, defending valuable resources or objectives.

Note: They no longer deal thorns damage.

Elites
Exceptionally powerful mobs with unique mechanics, guarding top-tier loot and presenting major combat challenges.
