Twitch Companion

Companions

Companions are mini-versions of a Twitch viewer that assist a streamer inside the Vault by adding passive and active modifiers. They render with the user’s chosen Minecraft Java skin and can be controlled using the Twitch extension (PC or mobile).

The companion that leads a party (the “party leader”) will scale in size with their level, while joining members will appear smaller (nicknamed “antlions”), but still display their skin and gear.

How to Get a Companion

• Redeem the Create Companion reward in the channel point menu → creates a level 1 companion linked to your Twitch username.
• Redeem any of the available booster packs.
• Subscribing, gifting subs, donating bits, or donating money also creates a companion.

Twitch Extension

The Twitch extension is the main interface for managing companions.

PC Access

1. Hover over the stream video and click the VH logo.
2. Select Manage Access.
3. Click Grant Permission.

You only need to grant permission once per device.

Mobile App Access

On mobile (Android/iOS), the VH logo appears between the video player and the chat. On tablets, it appears near the video player as well.

Modifiers and Spells

Companions have two types of modifiers: passive and active.

Passive Modifiers

Applied automatically at Vault entry.

• Common
  • Wooden – +25% wooden chests in wooden POIs
  • Ornate – +25% ornate chests in ornate POIs
  • Living – +25% living chests in living POIs
  • Wealthy – +25% coin piles in coin POIs

• Rare
  • Extended – +1 minute to Vault timer
  • Bonus Wooden – +1 random wooden chest

• Epic
  • Bonus Ornate – +1 ornate chest
  • Bonus Living – +1 living chest
  • Bonus Gilded – +1 gilded chest
  • Bonus Coins – +1 coin pile

• Omega
  • Phoenix – Grants streamer an extra life
  • Pandora – Spawns random “Pandora box blocks”

Active Modifiers ("Legendaries")

Cast by the viewer, lasting 5 minutes. Duration can be extended by devotion attributes.

Examples:

• Warrior – Companion fights mobs
• Lucky – +50% lucky hit chance
• Overpower – All mobs at 1 HP
• Nova Explosion – Cast nova on mob kill
• Loot Goblin – Double loot, triple rarity
• Soul Fest – +1000% soul shards from mobs

Active Spells

Spells are divided into Power and Wisdom types.

• Power Spells:* Nova, Poison Nova, Earthquake, Storm Arrow, Land Mine, Wrath Totem, Totem of Hatred.
• Wisdom Spells:* Frost Nova, Hunter, Heal, Mana Restore, Mana Shield, Blizzard Arrow, Ghost Walk, Spirit Totem, Rejuvenation Totem.
• Misc:* Vault Breaker.

Leveling Up

Companions gain levels through experience.

Experience Sources

• Redeem booster packs (Companion, Mega, Omega).
• Join Vault runs (via “I’m here” pop-up).
• Vault jackpots: Gold (100k XP), Silver (75k XP), Bronze (50k XP).
• Vault challenges (hidden goals).
• End-of-stream raffles.
• Subscriptions, gifted subs, donations, and bits.

Experience Conversion

• 1 Bit = 10 XP
• $1 = 1000 XP

Level Thresholds

• Level 2 → 25,000 XP
• Level 3 → 50,000 XP
• Level 10 → 800,000 XP
• Level 20 → 1,800,000 XP
• Level 50 → 7,800,000 XP
• Level 99 → 17,600,000 XP

Level-Up Rewards

• Level 2–9: Choose between 3 modifiers/spells, chance of legendary.
• Level 10: Becomes a party leader, gains guaranteed legendary.
• Level 11+: +1 party slot, +1 attribute, +1 selectable modifier each level.

Attributes

Attributes increase spell effects:

• Wisdom – Extends range of support abilities.
• Power – Increases damage of offensive abilities.
• Devotion – Extends duration of legendaries.

Companion Statuses

• Sleeping (Passive) – Default state, can be woken up.
• Resting – After being used in a Vault, must rest until next stream.
• Ghost – Streamer dies → companion perishes. Requires Revive Scroll to return.

Customization

• Change skins via any Minecraft Java IGN.
• Equip cosmetic gear (wardrobe tab).
• Customize backgrounds, name colors, particles, and portrait frames.
• All customization is cosmetic only.

Shop and Gemstones

• Gemstones = shop currency.
• Drop in the video player roughly once every 100 minutes of streaming.
• Shop items: cosmetics, revive scrolls, attribute reset scrolls, modifiers (after level 20).

Bingo

• Mini-challenges in the extension.
• Completing rows/diagonals grants gemstones.

Party System

• Level 10+ companions can be party leaders.
• Party leaders unlock transmog gear and can bring extra slots into the Vault.
• Party slots increase with level.

God Alignment

Companions can align with Vault Gods by selecting an idol. (Future feature under development.)

Q: How do I make a companion? A: Redeem “Create Companion”, booster packs, subscribe, gift subs, donate bits or money.

Q: My extension says I don’t have a companion? A: Refresh, wait a few minutes, and check chat for updates.

Q: Does gear affect gameplay? A: No, all gear is cosmetic.

Q: How often do gemstones drop? A: Guaranteed once every 100 minutes of stream time.

Q: How does the hype train multiplier work? A: Each hype train increases the multiplier. The “hero of the stream” companion’s level also boosts it.

Q: My skin won’t load. A: Wait 15–45 minutes for Minecraft’s API to refresh.
