The Cake Hunt objective is a special, opt‑in challenge in Vault Hunters where the goal is to collect as many cakes as possible inside the vault. Unlike random objectives, a Cake Hunt must be crafted: combine a Glazed Vault Rock with a Vault Crystal to create a Cake Crystal.
Obtaining a Glazed Vault Rock
- Buy one from the Black Market
- Purchase one inside a Vendor Room
How the vault works
- The vault generates one room at a time. Each time you find and right‑click a cake, a new room appears.
- A pink screen tint intensifies as you approach the cake, guiding you to its location.
- Every cake you eat adds a Cake Layer modifier. Layers stack indefinitely and simultaneously increase difficulty and rewards, as detailed below.

Finishing the vault
To complete a Cake Hunt you must locate a Crake Pedestal (yes, Crake, not Cake) and right‑click it. These pedestals have roughly a 10% chance to spawn in a room, so if you spot one, mark or memorize its location. After you have finished hunting cakes and looting, return to the pedestal to seal the vault.
