Vault Difficulties

Vault difficulty determines how tough the mobs are inside a Vault by adjusting their health and damage. It also changes the time available to complete a Vault God Task. It does not affect loot; loot is controlled by a separate game rule (see Vault Loot for details).

There are two types of Vault difficulty:

Global difficulty: Applies to all players unless overridden.
Local difficulty: Set per player and overrides the global setting for them.

How to set Vault difficulty

Commands

Command	Description
`/the_vault difficulty <difficulty>`	Sets the global Vault difficulty for all players.
`/the_vault local_difficulty <playerIGN> <difficulty>`	Sets a specific player's personal Vault difficulty.

In-game menu

Set global Vault difficulty in singleplayer mode:
- Click Options.
- In the top-right corner, find the Vault Diff button.
- Click it to cycle through the difficulty options.

Set global Vault difficulty in multiplayer mode:
- Click Options.
- Click the Online button.
- Click Server Difficulty to cycle through the options.

Vault Difficulty Options

Normal (default)	75%	75%	10:00 – 12:30	Champions can have aura's. Champions gain a range attack.
Hard	100%	100%	07:30 – 10:00	Champions always have between 1-2 aura's. Dwellers throw bricks to knock you off pillars.
Impossible	200%	200%	05:00 – 07:30	Champions always have 2 aura's.
Fragged	200%	400%	02:30 – 05:00

How to check current Vault difficulty

You can check Vault difficulty using the following commands:

Command	Description
`/the_vault difficulty`	Shows the global Vault difficulty.
`/the_vault local_difficulty <playerIGN>`	Shows the Vault difficulty for a specific player.

Additional notes

You can lock the Vault difficulty to prevent changes by clicking the lock icon beside the Vault Diff button.
