⚡ Vault Hunters Companions ⚡

Current Season: 2 Current Season: 2 Watch live: twitch.tv/iskall85

What are Companions?

Companions are mini-versions of Yourself that can assist a streamer inside the vault by adding passive and active modifiers (see Modifiers & Spells). You can control your companion by using the Twitch extension (PC or mobile).

  • Companions render with the given Minecraft Java account name (does not need to be your own).
  • The party leader companion's size scales with its level: higher level = bigger model (see Level Milestones).
  • Other party members render as small “antlions”, but still show their skin, gear and other cosmetics.

How to Get a Companion

  1. Open the channel point menu.
  2. Redeem Create Companion (creates a level 1 companion with your Twitch username.)
  3. A companion is also created when redeeming any of the booster packs (see Leveling Up) if you currently don't own one.

Enabling the Extension (PC)

  • Hover the mouse over the video player.
  • Click the VH logo on the right.
  • Select Manage Access.
  • Click Grant Permission.

Note: You must accept Twitch cookies and avoid conflicting Twitch add-ons (only 7TV / BTTV recommended).

Enabeling the Extension (Mobile)

  • On Android/iOS phones: look for the VH logo between video and chat.
  • On Android/iOS tablets: the logo is located near the video player.
  • Tap the three dots in the top right.
  • Toggle Grant Permission to ON.

Using the Extension

Once a companion is created and permissions are granted, you can:

  • Open the extension anytime to view your companion.
  • Change your alias (displayed name, e.g. Discord name).
  • Change the displayed skin (any Minecraft Java Account Name) (see Customization).
  • Buy Modifiers or Cosmetic
  • and more ...

Modifiers & Spells

Companions have two types of modifiers which affect the Vault if the Companion is part of the Vault Party:

  • Passive modifiers – apply automatically when a vault is entered.
  • Active modifiers (Legendaries) – can be cast manually by the owner. When you have an activatable legendary/spell ready, a popup appears.

Passive Modifier Examples:

  • Wooden: +25% wooden chests
  • Ornate: +25% ornate chests
  • Extended: +1 minute to vault timer
  • Phoenix: Grants the streamer an extra life

Active Modifier Examples:

  • Warrior: fights mobs
  • Lucky : +50% lucky hit chance
  • Loot Goblin: doubles loot in chests
  • Coin Explosion: mobs drop bronze, silver or gold

Spell Examples:

  • Power spells (damage based): Nova, Poison Nova, Earthquake, Storm Arrow
  • Wisdom spells (utility based): Frost Nova, Hunter, Heal, Mana Shield, Ghost Walk
  • Misc: Vault Breaker

Companion Status:

  • Sleeping: default state, press "Wake Up" to activate or write !wake in the chat.
  • Resting: after being brought into a vault, the companion must rest for the stream.
  • Ghost: if streamer dies, the companion perishes. Use a revive scroll to restore its health.

Leveling Up

Companions gain XP through:

  • Booster redemptions (Companion, Mega, Omega): These can be bought with channel points. Each booster grants 1 XP per channel point spent. Currently available boosters are: 5,000, 50,000, and 250,000 channel points.
  • Joining vaults (“I’m here”): When the streamer enters a vault, a popup appears. Click I’m here to register, XP is granted on successful vault completion. You can also type !join in the chat. Join XP scales with the current Hype Train multiplier and the party leader’s Eternal Level (plus other modifiers).
  • Hype Train multipliers: This multiplier modifies other XP sources (e.g., Join, Raffle). Higher hype trains = more XP from those actions.
  • Jackpot rewards: Random jackpots at the end of each Vault Run can award: Gold 100,000 XP, Silver 75,000 XP, Bronze 50,000 XP.
  • Vault challenges (Support/Doubt):: Challenges are hidden from the streamer. View them in the extension or use !support / !doubt in chat. They Reward: a per-companion random amount between 2,500 and 5,000 XP. They are NOT affected by the Hype Train multiplier.
  • Raffle (end of stream): If your companion is awake when the stream ends, you will get Hype Train multiplier × 1,000 XP. One Person can win the Raffle and earn 100k XP instead. (plus some Loot depending on the passive modifiers of the companion for the streamer)
  • (Re-)Subscribing: A (re-)subscription gives XP based on the Tier: Tier 1 → 5,000 XP, Tier 2 → 10,000 XP, Tier 3 → 25,000 XP for each (re-)subscription.
  • Gifted subs: The gifter earns XP equal to the resub value of the gifted subs tiers (receiver does not gain XP).
  • Bits: 10 XP per bit (e.g., 100 bits = 1,000 XP).
  • Monetary donations: Converted to USD at time of gift: $1 = 1,000 XP.

Level Milestones

  • Level 2–9: Gain selectable modifier (with a small chance that a spell instead is offered), plus a challenge stack each level.
  • Level 10: The companion becomes a party leader and gets a guaranteed legendary.
  • Level 11+: Each new level adds +1 party slot, and +1 selectable modifier (each pick again has a small chance to be a spell instead of a passive).

Eternal Levels

  • Carried over from Season 1 (The S1 Level is the base Level for the Eternal Levels).
  • With each Season Level up the Eternal Level gets increased as well. Special Rewards can be earned based on Eternal Level.

Companion Rewards

Current unlockable rewards can be found on this page: Twitch Companion Rewards.

Previous Drops can be found here: Twitch Drops (Transmogs).

Customization

There are multiple diffrent ways to customize the appearence of the Companion:

  • Change skin (any Java Account Name).
  • Gear (obtained from a Gear Booster Pack (2,000 channel points))
  • Cosmetics (particles, name colours, frames and backgrounds) can be bought in the Shop and are applied in the Inventory tab.

Bingo

  • Mini-challenges within the extension.
  • Completing a row/diagonal = 1 gemstone.

Gemstones & Shop

  • Gemstones drop on a timer with rising chance: you start at 0%, the chance increases by +1% every minute, at 100 minutes a drop is guaranteed.
  • When a gemstone drops, the chance resets to 0% and begins climbing again.
  • Gemstones are used as currency in the Shop.

Inventory

Bought cosmetics can be activated and changed in the Inventory tab.

Companion Experience Table (Levels 2–30)
