Highlights

The Gloom is here!

A Brand new spooky, weird and gloomy vault theme, complete with several brand new blocks, monsters and decorations\! This theme has a chance to appear during the month of October, with an increased chance on October 31st. The augment for it can however be crafted year’around, using one of each Nether augment and a jack-o-lantern. While the gloomy cobwebs might get you caught, and can’t be broken, it might be worth exploring this theme as it does contain special transmogs for Helmet, Chestplate, Boots and Axe, as well as a very special Companion variant\! Finally, the gloomy blocks appearing in this theme can not be crafted, but can be collected\!

Overhauled Rune Boss

This overhaul includes solving a major bug, which included that the Rune boss never scaled as intended, specifically its HP, causing players having the ability to add an unreasonable amount of runes. Speaking of Runes, we simplified the selection by letting the base boss have all their abilities, and instead letting the player choose the reward of the rune, while modifying Ability Haste, HP and Damage of the boss. Ability Haste determines how frequently the boss uses their abilities (it can be seen as “attack speed” in simple terms). This should make selecting your rewards and customising the experience more streamlined and easier to understand. Finally, we gave all bosses 3 ultimate abilities, these occurs after a certain threshold of runes is reached; Shielded is applied after 20 runes have been submitted, Blast Wave is applied after 40 runes have been submitted, and finally Phoenix is applied after 60 runes have been applied, and every 20 runes there after. We are excited about these changes, and want to send a big thank you to our pre-release champion patreons for playtesting it a lot\!

Introducing Vault Pendant

These very rare pendants can be found in Ornate chests, barrels and strongboxes. A Pendant has usages (like trinkets and charms), and can be equipped in your Necklace Slot. They don’t have a rarity, but they can be legendary and roll \+levels to abilities.

New and Improved Vault Compass

Since our addition of the vault map, the compass has been found stuffed away in oak and birch chests around players’ worlds, forgotten and dusty. Now it’s time to get them out again\! We have added a progression system to Compasses, where the player, after unlocking the research, can unlock new targets for the compass, such as pointing at the closest undiscovered challenge room, or uncompleted god altar to mention two. These targets can be changed inside a vault at the cost of 10% maximum health (similar to how vault fruit works). In our testing we are very excited about this change, as it provides more ways for players to navigate the vaults\!

Vault Filters Mod added

This mod is amazing for anyone seeking to min-max their Vault Hunters experience. It allows the player to deep filter items based on their nbt values. You can now create machines that pick jewels, cards and/or gear from your hoards based on stats that you want\! Big thank you to HoY and the developer Joseph for this amazing mod\! Hunter Rendering Rework

Hunter now has two rendering variations. Outlines (default), and Particles, these can be altered in the Accessibility menu. The Outlines style will render customisable block outlines instead of Particles, which can improve FPS. You can also now configure the colours for raw vault chests, objectives, god altars, doors, and pylons!

Other Additions

  • The Companion Bed have been upgraded visually, and the UI has been redone, it also allows you to select variations of your companions when unlocked
  • New Companion: Dylan (it’s awesome), a lot of variations can be unlocked during live stream events on iskall85’s twitch channel.
  • Added a bunch of new transmogs
  • Added a screen overlay (vignette) when being close to a companion egg inside a vault
  • Added a Void + Pickup mode to magnets, allowing better inventory management at lower levels, this mode can be changed inside a vault.
    • Voiding unnecessary blocks is no longer gated behind research
    • Void Crucible can still exclude items from being voided by this mode
    • Voidstones have been removed
  • Added the ability to get black dye from Charcoal / Coal
  • Added the ability to smelt raw ore blocks
  • Added the ability to use the Multiservo from Thermal Expansion to unpack compressed blocks
  • added the ability to smelt and crush/pulverize(create/thermal/mekanism) compressed blocks where possible
  • Cooldown, Duration, and Radius numbers now take gear modifiers into account when displayed in the abilities tab
  • Co-op display will now display the skin and name of players even if they are offline
  • Soul Diffusers will now keep their inventory when broken

Balance Updates

  • We have removed Item Quantity, Item Rarity, Trap Disarm and Soul Quantity from Armour pieces and instead massively buffed these modifiers on Magnets, making your magnet a lot more exciting to roll, while keeping armour focused on combat stats, making it easier to adapt your gear to your goals
  • Buffed Pestilence Wall, it now rolls 1-12 poison levels (instead of 1-3)
    • Note, we had a serious bug in previous versions where Poison damage scaled based off of AP, this was never an intended feature
  • Changed the Butcher Guardians in the village rooms to be much tougher, both health and damage wise, but massively reduced the amount that spawns.
  • Changed it so that Raid Rooms found in normal vaults can now offer uniques
  • Changed the Voidstone prestige to affect Necklaces instead
  • Buffed Pax to roll size 5, 10, or 15, (previously 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25\)
  • Buffed Kaleidoscope to always roll every affinity (Size 5 to 25\)
  • Slightly buffed unique chance in Raid and Lab rooms

  • Fixed the “Bonus” modifiers not applying themselves in Challenge or Special rooms
  • Fixed Companion Eggs not spawning in Boss Rooms
  • Fixed Prestige Powers being active in Royale vaults
  • Fixed lucky hit having the ability to trigger from thorns on a shield (not exclusive to rosethorn ivy)
  • Fixed Gladiator Buckler not removing effects after unequip
  • Fixed Bishop decks dropping in pairs
  • Fixed X-Mark rewards spawning outside of the “challenge zone”
